Neoregelia Tiny Tot Fireball 'Lyda's Pride'
Neoregelia 'Fireball' ‘Lyda’s Pride’ is a colourful compact bromeliad cultivar selected for its striking pink-edged foliage and vigorous growth. Descended from Neoregelia species native to the Atlantic Forest of Brazil, it combines excellent colour with an easy-care nature, making it suitable for both beginners and collectors.
This listing is for a bare-rooted pup (offset). These young plants are removed from established stock plants and supplied without a pot or growing media. Once planted, they establish quickly and develop into full-sized rosettes, eventually producing pups of their own.
Each rosette flowers only once before producing offsets from the base, gradually forming attractive clumps over time. As the plant matures, the foliage develops stronger pink and red tones, particularly when grown in bright filtered light.
'Lyda’s Pride' is ideal for pots, mounted displays, vertical gardens and tropical landscapes in frost-free climates. Indoors it performs well in a bright position and is an excellent choice for collectors wanting to grow on their own specimen.
Care Tips:
- Light: Bright, filtered light. Increased light encourages stronger pink and red colouration.
- Water: Keep the central cup filled with fresh water and flush regularly. Water the growing media when it begins to dry.
- Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to typical indoor conditions.
- Media: Plant into a coarse, free-draining bromeliad mix or mount onto timber or cork.
- Fertiliser: Feed lightly during active growth using a dilute liquid fertiliser.
- Temperature: Best grown between 15–28 °C. Protect from frost.
- Growth: Supplied as a young pup that will mature into a flowering rosette before naturally producing offsets.
