Hoya carnosa 'Silver Pink Ghost' – H258
Hoya carnosa 'Silver Pink Ghost' is a highly variegated selection distinguished by its silvery-white foliage, subtle green marbling, and the soft pink tones that can develop on new growth under bright conditions. This clone was selected from within our collection for its exceptionally pale foliage and unique appearance.
Unlike standard Hoya carnosa forms, 'Silver Pink Ghost' is grown primarily for its foliage. The leaves can range from almost completely silver-white through to heavily mottled silver with green flecking, creating a constantly changing display as the plant matures.
Care
- Light: Bright indirect light. Avoid harsh afternoon sun.
- Water: Allow the potting mix to partially dry between waterings.
- Temperature: Warm growing; ideally 15–30°C.
- Humidity: Appreciates moderate to high humidity but adapts well to typical indoor conditions.
- Media: Free-draining Hoya mix with excellent aeration.
- Feeding: Apply a balanced fertiliser during active growth.
Key Characteristics
- Foliage colour: Silver-white with green flecking and occasional pink tones
- Growth habit: Climbing or trailing vine
- Flower colour: Pink star-shaped flowers with darker centres when mature
- Fragrance: Yes, typically sweetly scented
- Plant size: Medium-sized vining Hoya
- Collector appeal: Selected clone with highly unusual foliage
Important Information
Leaf colour and variegation intensity vary throughout the year and between individual plants. New growth may emerge with soft pink tones before maturing to silver-white and green. Plants are sold for their unique foliage characteristics rather than a guaranteed colour pattern.
