Cymbidium (Splatters × devonianum) 'Boots'

Cymbidium (Splatters × devonianum) 'Boots'

Cymbidium Splatters × devonianum 'Boots' is a selected Australian clone producing beautifully marked flowers in rich burgundy, bronze and raspberry tones. The broad petals and sepals are overlaid with fine darker veining, while the deep burgundy lip creates a striking contrast against the softly patterned flowers.

Selected by Paradisia "Boots", the clone combines excellent flower substance with the free-flowering nature inherited from Cymbidium devonianum. Mature plants produce graceful arching spikes carrying numerous long-lasting blooms, making it equally at home in a collection or on display.

Care

  • Light: Bright filtered light with gentle morning sun.
  • Water: Water regularly during active growth, allowing the mix to become only slightly dry between waterings.
  • Temperature: Cool to intermediate conditions. Cool autumn nights encourage reliable spike initiation.
  • Growing Media: Free-draining premium orchid bark mix.
  • Feeding: Feed regularly with a balanced orchid fertiliser during spring and summer, reducing once flower spikes develop.
